Oh great ones please explain the new anti-spam code to the rest of us mortals
We had to come up with a way to prevent those automated spam entries that at one stage create 112 pages in the guest book. That much Viagra you don't need.
So now when you click on the guest book link you will see the following screen:

To make an entry simply complete the relevant information. Entering your name, the anti-spam code and selecting the country are mandatory.
The anti-spam code is displayed on the grey button next to the anti-spam code field. You simply enter the code, as it appears on the button, into the field.

In this case you would enter 492cd into the anti-spam code field. The code is generated at the time the guestbook is accessed and is different each time.
If you don't enter the code or you enter it incorrectly the following error message will appear:

If this happens simply check that you have entered the code or that you have entered it correctly. If that doesn't work send us an email and we will look into it.
We have also put in some flood protection so if for some reason you want to make multiple entries you have to wait a minute between entries. This will stop any rush of blood to the head or arguments.
What the hell is Are You Ready To Grumble?
Are You Ready to Grumble is a half hour radio show about nothing in particular. If we had to describe it we would draw on the wisdom of Jerry Seinfeld. He said his TV show was about the small moments in between the big moments. Well our show is about the smaller moments in between the small moments in between the big moments.
Its just two guys (PJ and Gav) with too much time on their hands who enjoy talking about the real burning issues that have plagued people throughout history ... like if a woman talks about her breasts can you look at them? I mean if she's talking about her hat or new bag you look at them.
These
are the sort of conversations people have with friends around the dinner
table or at the pub all the time. Sure they're largely pointless in the wider
scheme of things but they can be humorous and entertaining none the less.
While the coarse language is kept to a minimum the shows contain Adult Themes
and so are not suitable for young kids, people with high entertainment standards
or those of you with no sense of humour.

Why
oh Why is this show so Crude/ Blokey/ Pointless?
The show does have a point (see the answer to the first
question) but it can be shambolic. Its crude and blokey because
this sort of humour makes us laugh and we find ourselves incredibly funny. Have
you tried Raise
the Tone ? Still not happy? Complaints can be left here

Who
are the Grumbles ?
The Are You Ready to Grumble team is made up of PJ, Gav and
our Producer "Please Don't Name Me".
PJ studied to be an Accountant but
lacking sufficient personality went on to become an over paid, under worked IT
consultant who preyed on naive but cashed up Government Departments. The strain
of working for a living became too much and he has been a drain on society for
the last couple of years. He likes to think of himself as the brains behind the Are
You Ready to Grumble operation although Gav says he thinks too much. PJ
lives with his girlfriend "Your show is alright .... I suppose" and
their 2 dogs
Gav is a senior marketing executive in a
multinational transportation company. A former premiership AFL player and
current AFL coach he provides guidance on etiquette, sporting expertise and
is the eye candy for the Ladies. Gav lives with his wife "If you mention me
on your show I will kill you" and son "You Old Men aren't funny"
"Please Don't Name Me" is
required to produce this show due to an unfortunate incident that resulted in
him being unable to return to the local public library and being sentenced to a
large number of community service hours ..... although he still
maintains his innocence. As a result he is too embarrassed to reveal his true
identity and can't wait to leave community radio for a job that pays actual
money. He is married to Mrs 'Please Don't Name Me' and they have 2 children
'Please Don't Name Me Jnr' and 'Please Don't Name Me the Third'.

How do I submit an article for Raise the Tone! ?
Email us with 'submit an article' as the subject. Make sure you attach your article. We use Microsoft Word so make sure your article is compatible with that program. You can submit pictures but please make them as small as possible (ie the file size not necessarily the dimensions) as we have to pay for the space.
If we think it has merit we will include it on Raise the Tone! - don't worry most things impress us.
Usually we will name the person who writes the article but if we really like it we may pretend we wrote it!
If we aren't impressed we will let you know, although we expect this to be a rare occurrence. This may upset you but please take it on the chin and try editing it or submitting another article. Please don't attempt to argue with us about our decision. We may not fully appreciate the majestic sweep and brilliance of your article but its our website ...our rules.

How
do I listen to the shows ?
You have a choice. As a new show is made available it is
included on the home page and all you have to do is click on
the 'Show (number)' link and this will take you to the Grumble Show page.
Alternatively you can go to the latest show by clicking on 'The Grumble Show'
link at the top of the home page and this will take you to the Grumble Show
page. Once on the Grumble Show page you simply select the file you want
depending on whether you are on dial up or broadband. The dial up file version
has been set up to download as quickly as possible. However the sound quality is
not great. The broadband version has a high sound quality but is a bigger file.
People have told us that the larger file can take upto 30min to download using
dial up.
Once you click on the file link the show will download. Depending on what you are using to play mp3 files on your computer a couple of different things may happen. If you are using QuickTime the file will download in full before it starts playing. Unfortunately this can give the impression that nothing is happening. Simply wait for about 5 minutes (if you have broadband) or longer if you are on dial up. If you have Winamp or Windows Media Player the file will start to play within a couple of seconds even if it isn't fully downloaded.
Sometimes you will see the following box saying do you want to open or save the file

If you select open the show will play. Alternatively you can save the show and play it later.
However if you have Windows XP Home or Professional as your operating system you may get the following error message

If this happens click on the yellow message and the following menu will appear

Click on the "Allow Blocked Content" and the Are You Ready To Grumble show will play. This error is because the standard setting for the Windows Security Centre automatically blocked audio and some other types of files. The Are You Ready to Grumble audio files are checked prior to them going on to the web site and at that stage are virus free.
If you want to save the show simply right click on the 'Click Here for the latest Are You Ready To Grumble' text

And select the "Save Target As" option. Then select the location to which you want to save the file and select save.

How
do I listen to Beachside Community FM, I can't find it on my radio
?
While the good people at Beachside Community FM
support the show they were concerned that if too many people started
listening this would put pressure on their other shows. They were
concerned that if the other shows weren't as popular this would cause
friction or a loss of esteem on the part of the other Beachside
Community FM presenters. I think they are also a little dismayed at
the content and general tone. As a result they don't want too many people to listen
to our show so we have promised not to advertise their FM frequency.
This question is addressed more fully in the Grumble Diary.
